Hello, my name is Kay and I am a fully qualified Ear Wax Removal Specialist. I have been a Qualified Nurse for over 40 years working in a variety of NHS settings in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Care.
In Primary Care I learned the skill of ear syringing at a GP Practice and enjoyed the satisfaction of removing wax from client’s ears and the profound effect it had on their hearing as it was instantly restored. I can’t think of any other treatment which is as rewarding.
I now work part-time for the NHS and on completion of a refresher course I now practice ear-irrigation and micro-suction as an Independent Practitioner.
However, making sure clients’ ears are clear of wax is only part of my job. Building a good rapport and gaining the trust and confidence of my clients’ is just as important as the procedure itself, which is why I take time to explain the procedure step by step. This ensures the clients co-operation and consent. I also give advice on aftercare and how to prevent wax from building up again and advise which products to use and how often.
